The Board

IMG_4014.HEIC

With a background that spans logistics and professional culinary arts, I transitioned into the world of virtual cycling through Zwift, where I joined the board of BRT and played a key role in growing the club to 2,500 members. Co-owning the Wahoo Le Col Elite Team, I combined my passion for sport with my academic achievements, holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports, Fitness, and Coaching. My journey reflects a blend of leadership, teamwork, and a deep commitment to the world of sports and fitness.

Dai Swan is a recovering triathlete (really bad at it but working on it).  Currently working in Qatar so two hours ahead of UK racing.  Dai was an early adopter of Zwift and was a board member of BRT.  Currently focussing on fitness for longevity rather than speed and power so much.  Really interested in efficient bodies and maximising what we are capable of.

I began my cycling journey as a mountain biker, taking on gruelling endurance races like 10 Under the Ben and Relentless 24 and Strathpuffer definitely tested my limits but man was it worth it!   Soon I transitioned to the road and discovered a new kind of challenge.
I've been Zwift racing and doing team time trials with the BRT crew from the early days.
I might still get destroyed by the stronger guys, but hey, what's a bit of pain?  Even if I'm not the fastest, I still love the challenge of pushing my limits

My sporting journey began in track and field, basketball and cycling at the county level, before a seven-year stint in the British Army led me to a semi-professional rugby career in Australia and the UK. Later transitioning to indoor rowing, I competed at the British Championships and explored Ergathlon events (ski/row/bike), which reignited my passion for cycling.  As a member of the World-Famous Badgers Team and Team EVOLVE, I now focus on e-sports and ultra/gravel, recently completing a 641km race in under 30 hours.  I'm largely driven by the camaraderie and heritage of our teams and enjoy helping  our members race hard and to have fun!

Always eager to learn and make every situation an opportunity and at the same time, as individual of a society, where we must support others to embrace their capabilities and to guide them to achieve their dreams. There is always something to be learned from every individual

Started cycling really young (15) in Cali, Colombia cycling with my parents and uncles in the roads of Valle del Cauca State with a steel “Rossin” bike!

After a long period (2014)(37 years old @95KG) I got back into it when a friend in Adelaide, Australia encourage me to buy a Jamis bike.  I have not stopped since then.

Joined Zwift in 2016 and along my mates of the BRT “B9ers” Team I have participated in every edition of each Season for Zwift Racing League.

Come and join us!!! Vamos!
